Sister Colleen McNicholas, O.P, who served as an adjunct faculty member at Fordham University, died Aug. 3 at St. Dominic Villa in Hazel Green, Wis. She was 84.
Sister Colleen served at Fordham for four years ending in 1989. She also earned a doctorate in education administration from Fordham.
Born in Chicago, she entered the Dominican Sisters of Sinsinawa in 1955 and made final vows in 1959. Her religious name was Sister Maria Avia.
She is survived by a sister and two brothers.
A Funeral Mass was offered Aug. 12 at the Dominican motherhouse in Sinsinawa, Wis. Burial was at the motherhouse cemetery.
