Sister Dolores Mascali, R.D.C., a pastoral counselor at Academy of Our Lady of Good Counsel in White Plains, died July 22. She was 74.
She had served as a pastoral counselor at Good Counsel since 1982.
She also taught religion there, 1978-1982, and at John F. Kennedy Catholic High School in Somers, 1970-1978. Earlier, she taught at Sacred Heart Elementary School, Hartsdale, 1968-1970; St. Anthony’s, White Plains, 1967-1968; St. Joseph’s, Croton Falls, 1961-1967, and St. Frances de Chantal, the Bronx, 1957-1961.
Born in the Bronx, she entered the Sisters of the Divine Compassion in 1954 and professed final vows in 1962. She took the religious name Sister Mary Bonaventure.
She held a bachelor’s degree from Good Counsel College, a master’s in religious studies from Manhattanville College and a master’s in pastoral counseling from Iona College.
She is survived by a sister, Lucille Flatley. A Funeral Mass was offered July 24 at Good Counsel Convent in White Plains, with burial in Calvary Cemetery, White Plains.
