Sister Eileen M. Palma, I.H.M.

Sister Eileen M. Palma, I.H.M., a native of Staten Island who taught at Holy Trinity School in Poughkeepsie, died March 8 at Our Lady of Peace Residence in Scranton, Pa. She was 88.

Sister Eileen taught at Holy Trinity School, 1966-1969, and at schools in Forest Hills, Queens, Binghamton and Syracuse, and Pittsburgh, Pa.

She entered the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in 1948 and made final vows in 1953. She was formerly known as Sister M. Virginis.

She received a bachelor’s degree in education and a master’s in religious education from Marywood College, Scranton.

A Funeral Mass was offered March 14 at Our Lady of Peace Residence, Scranton. Burial was at St. Catherine’s Cemetery, Moscow, Pa.
