Sister Eleanor Desaulniers, I.H.M.

Sister Eleanor Desaulniers, I.H.M., who served at St. Alphonsus Commercial High School in Manhattan for four years, died Jan. 12 at Regional Hospital of Scranton in Scranton, Pa. She was 94.

At St. Alphonsus, Sister Eleanor was principal, 1967-1970, and teacher, 1947-1948. She also served in Manhasset, Rhode Island, Pennsylvania and Idaho.

Born in Williamsport, Pa., she entered the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in 1944 and professed final vows in 1950.

Her sisters, Sister M. Patricia, M.M., and Marguerite Smith, survive her.

The Funeral Mass and graveside service were private. Burial was in St. Catherine’s Cemetery, Moscow, Pa.
