Sister Elizabeth Mary Fritchen, S.S.S.F.


Sister Elizabeth Mary Fritchen, S.S.S.F., who served at a school on Staten Island, died June 26 at St. Joseph's Convent in Campbellsport, Wis. She was 84. She was a homemaker, dietary supervisor and seamstress in the Midwest and in New York, where she served at St. Mary of the Assumption School, Staten Island, 1963-1968. Born in Racine, Wis., she entered the School Sisters of St. Francis in 1939 and took the religious name Sister Monaldo. She professed final vows in 1947. Surviving are two sisters, Monica Dargo and Dolores Ellison, and a brother, Elmer Beatty. A Funeral Mass was offered June 29 at St. Joseph Convent, with burial in the sisters' cemetery in Campbellsport.
