Sister Ellen M. Dunne, S.C., who taught at Our Lady of Angels School in the Bronx for 43 years, died Sept. 22 at Cabrini of Westchester in Dobbs Ferry. She was 73.

Sister Ellen served at Our Lady of Angels, 1970-2013.

Most recently, she served at two other Bronx schools, St. Raymond, 2015-2020, and St. Nicholas of Tolentine, 2013-2014.

Born in Brooklyn, she entered the Sisters of Charity of New York in 1966 and professed final vows in 1979.

She earned a bachelor’s degree in history from the College of Mount St. Vincent, the Bronx; and a master’s in education from Lehman College, the Bronx.

Her brother, Dr. Thomas C. Dunne, and her sister, Jane Dunne Brady, survive her.

A Funeral Mass was celebrated Sept. 25 at St. Margaret of Cortona Church, the Bronx. Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery, Yonkers.
