Sister Florence Henderson, S.C.C., who taught and was a principal in the archdiocese, died Dec. 17 at Holy Family Convent in Danville, Pa. She was 86. She was principal of Immaculate Conception School, East 151st Street, the Bronx, 1971-1973; and taught and was superior of her religious community at St. Peter's, Kingston, 1963-1964, and Nativity, Poughkeepsie, 1953-1959. She also taught in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Maryland. Born in New York City, she entered the Sisters of Christian Charity in 1938 and made final vows in 1948. She held a bachelor's degree in education from Seton Hall University and a master's in education from Marywood University. She is survived by a brother, Hugh. A Funeral Mass was offered Dec. 20 in the chapel at Holy Family Convent. Burial was in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Danville.
