Sister Frances McNamee, O.P, who was director of financial aid for Mount St. Mary College in Newburgh and the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, died Sept. 13 in Newburgh. She was 93. Sister Frances was director of financial aid at Mount St. Mary College, 1967-1973, and at the Culinary Institute of America, 1973-1978. She also was secretary for the Salesian Missions in New Rochelle. She taught at schools in New Jersey from 1936 until 1967, and later was a school secretary in Connecticut. She was a receptionist at Mount St. Mary Convent in Newburgh, 1988-1993, and a volunteer at the Newburgh Center of Hope, 1993-1995. Born in Philadelphia, Pa., Sister Frances, formerly known as Sister Andrea, entered the Dominican Sisters of Newburgh in 1934 and professed final vows in 1942. She held bachelor's and master's degrees in business education from Columbia University in Manhattan. A Funeral Mass was offered on Sept. 18 at the Dominican Sisters of Hope chapel in Newburgh with burial at the sisters' cemetery there.
