Sister Geraldine Little, S.C., who served at the College of Mount St. Vincent in Riverdale for 37 years, died March 29 at Convent of Mary the Queen in Yonkers. She was 84.

She was a librarian at the college, 1972-1997, and taught elementary education classes, 1961-1972. She served as a volunteer at the college for one year, 1997-1998.

She also taught at St. Barnabas High School in the Bronx, 1960-1961; Immaculate Heart of Mary School, Scarsdale, 1953-1960; and at Immaculate Conception School, Manhattan, 1948-1953.

Born in Rutherford, N.J., she entered the Sisters of Charity of New York in 1946 and professed final vows in 1951. She was formerly known as Sister Miriam John.

She held a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and a master’s in religious education, both from Fordham University. She held a master’s of library science from The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C.

She is survived by a sister, Estelle Roberts. A Funeral Mass was offered March 31 at Convent of Mary the Queen, with burial in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Yonkers.
