Sister Helen Marie Cahill, F.M.S.C., who taught for eight years at Ladycliff College in Highland Falls, died Jan. 14. She was 92.
Sister Helen Marie was at Ladycliff College, 1972-1980. She also taught at Marymount Manhattan College, Manhattan, 1980-1985; Ladycliff Academy, Highland Falls, 1970-1972; St. Joseph’s High School branch of Cathedral High School, Manhattan, 1969-1970; Immaculate Conception, Irvington, 1963-1969; Holy Name of Mary, Croton, 1962-1963; Sacred Heart, Highland Falls, 1956-1962; and St. Matthew’s, Hastings-on-Hudson, 1954-1956. She also served in Brooklyn and New Jersey.

Born in West Point, she entered the Franciscan Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart in 1947 and professed final vows in 1954.

Sister Helen Marie earned a bachelor’s degree in English from Ladycliff College, Highland Falls; a master’s in English from St. Bonaventure University, Allegany; and a doctorate in English from Walden University, Minneapolis.

A Funeral Mass was offered Jan. 17 at Mount St. Francis, Peekskill. Burial was in the sisters’ cemetery at Mount St. Francis.
