Sister Jeanine Nolan, O.P.

Sister Jeanine Nolan, O.P., who was principal of Albertus Magnus High School in Bardonia, died Dec. 26 at Montefiore Nyack Hospital. She was 92.

Sister Jeanine served as principal of Albertus Magnus, 1983-1989, and as a teacher there, 1967-1974. She was assistant principal at Aquinas High School in the Bronx, 1974-1983.

She taught at Cathedral High School in Manhattan, 1960-1967; St. Theresa School, the Bronx, 1957-1960; St. Rose of Lima, Manhattan, 1951-1953; and St. Helena’s, the Bronx, 1948-1951.

She served as an administrative assistant at One to One Learning in Upper Nyack, 2007-2019. She was business manager at Holy Trinity High School, Hicksville, 1989-2007, and taught in Springfield Gardens, Queens, 1953-1957.

Born in the Bronx, she entered the Dominican Sisters of Sparkill in 1946 and made final vows in 1953. She held a bachelor’s degree in education from Fordham University and a master’s in chemistry from Villanova University.

She is survived by her sister, Rita Olsson, and her brothers, Augustine, Matthew and Brother Bernard, F.M.S., and nieces and nephews.

Funeral arrangements were private. Burial was at St. Agnes Cemetery in Sparkill.
