Sister Joan Mary Baldridge, O.P., a former principal of Our Lady of Mercy School in the Bronx, died Oct. 24 at the motherhouse in Sinsinawa, Wis. She was 77.
She served at Our Lady of Mercy, 1986-1997. She also served as an educator in Chicago; Milwaukee; Kansas City, Mo.; Sioux City, Iowa; and Camden, N.J. She served in leadership positions in the Dominican Sisters of Sinsinawa’s Northeast Province.
Born in Ashland, Wis., she made her first vows as a Sinsinawa Dominican in 1952 and her final vows in 1955.
A twin brother, John, survives her. A Funeral Mass was offered Oct. 28 at Queen of the Rosary Chapel in Sinsinawa. Burial was in the motherhouse cemetery.
