Sister Josita of the Sacred Heart Maloney, O. Carm., who served at two homes for the elderly in Manhattan, died March 4 at Mary Manning Walsh Home, Manhattan. She was 95.
During her years of service, she acted as a bookkeeper and administrator as well as a licensed practical nurse. She was administrator at Mount Carmel Home in Manhattan, and also served at homes in Philadelphia, Pa. and West Palm Beach, Fla. In 1976 she went to Mary Manning Walsh Home where she remained after her retirement in 2005.
Born in Brooklyn, she entered the Carmelite Sisters for the Aged and Infirm in 1938 and professed final vows in 1944.
A Funeral Mass was offered March 13 in the Holy Family Chapel at Mary Manning Walsh Home. Burial was at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne.
