Sister Karinne O’Malley, O.P., who served as a teacher at two schools in the archdiocese, died in a car accident last Sept. 27 in North Fort Myers, Fla., CNY has learned. She was 81.
She taught at Corpus Christi School in Manhattan, 1968-1977, and at Our Lady of Refuge School, the Bronx, 1979-1988, and at schools in Illinois, Wisconsin, Iowa, Florida and Alabama.
She made final vows with the Dominican Sisters of Sinsinawa in 1954.
She is survived by a sister, Jude Ryan. A Funeral Mass was offered at the motherhouse in Sinsinawa, Wis., with burial in the cemetery there.
