Sister Kathleen Doyle, F.S.P.

Sister Kathleen Doyle, F.S.P., who served as an educator for many years, including as principal of Ladycliff/Franciscan High School in Mohegan Lake, died March 13 at the Cabrini Nursing Home in Dobbs Ferry. She was 91.

Sister Kathleen served at Ladycliff/Franciscan, 1969-1977. She taught at Ladycliff Academy in Highland Falls, 1968-1969; St. Patrick’s School,

Yorktown Heights, 1967-1968; Assisium Business School, Manhattan, 1963-1964; Lt. Joseph P. Kennedy Home, the Bronx, 1962-1963; St. Joseph’s Home, Peekskill, as teacher and group mother, 1958-1962; St. Matthew’s School, Hastings-on-Hudson, 1957-1958; and Our Lady Queen of Martyrs, Manhattan, 1950-1957.

She served in hospital administrative community affairs and pastoral care at Our Lady of Mercy Medical Center, the Bronx, 1983-1999. She served in administrative pastoral care at Metropolitan Hospital, Manhattan, 1999-2002, and Calvary Hospital, the Bronx, 1980-1983.

Born in Astoria, Queens, she entered the Franciscan Sisters of Peace in 1946 and made final vows in 1953. She held a bachelor’s degree in English from Ladycliff College in Highland Falls, and a master’s in English from St. Bonaventure University in Olean She was formerly known as Sister Dolores Marie.

She is survived by her brother, Bill Doyle, and her sister, Sister Dolores Doyle, P.B.V.M.

A Funeral Mass was offered March 16 at Marian Woods Chapel in Hartsdale. Burial was at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Yonkers.
