Sister Kathleen Flynn, O.P., who served in education and social service ministries, died Jan. 7 at Nyack Hospital. She was 70.

    As an educator, she was principal of St. Nicholas of Tolentine School, the Bronx, 1987-1990, and a teacher there, 1968-1973.

   Sister Kathleen, formerly known as Sister Thomas Regina, also taught in the Bronx at St. Mary Star of the Sea, 1964-1965; SS. Philip and James, 1965-1968; St. Pius V High School, 1973-1976; and Sacred Heart Middle School, 1990-1992; and in Manhattan at Holy Cross School, 1976-1979.

   She also served at Highbridge Community Life Center, 1986-1987, and was an administrative assistant of Sammon B.U.I.L.D. Homeless Shelter, 1992-1996, both in the Bronx, and was supervisor of housekeeping at St. Dominic's Home, Blauvelt, 2001-2003. She also served the Blauvelt congregation as director of personnel and payroll, 1996-2000.

   Born in the Bronx, she entered the Sisters of St. Dominic in 1956 and professed final vows in 1965. She held a bachelor's degree from Dominican College, Blauvelt, and a master's from Fordham University.

   She is survived by two sisters, Dorothy Flynn and Frances Smith, and a brother, John.

   A Funeral Mass was offered Jan. 11 at St. Dominic's Convent, Blauvelt, with burial in the sisters' cemetery.
