Sister Loretta Blasé, O.P., who did child care work in the archdiocese, died March 5 in Siena Hall Infirmary of Dominican Convent, Sparkill. She was 92.

She was a child care worker at St. Agnes Home, Sparkill, 1933-1942; St. Rose Settlement, Manhattan, 1941-1943 and 1959-1963; St. Ignatius Day Nursery, Manhattan, 1949-1952 and 1970-1976; and Cardinal McCloskey Home, White Plains, 1952-1954 and 1963-1970. She also served in Wilmington, Del.

She taught religion at a parish in Hicksville, 1954-1959. She was a staff member at Villa St. Joseph, Saugerties, 1978-1986 and the Dominican House of Studies in Rome, 1986-1987. After that she served her community at Dominican Convent until retiring in 2002.

Sister Loretta was born in Maplewood, Mo. She entered the Sparkill Dominican Sisters in 1933 and took the religious name Sister Mary Linus. She professed final vows in 1939.

She is survived by her twin sister, Sister Alberta Blasé, O.P., of Dominican Convent.

A Funeral Mass was offered March 8 at Our Lady of the Rosary Chapel of Dominican Convent, with burial in St. Agnes Cemetery in Sparkill.
