Sister Loretta Josepha Conran, S.C., who taught for 25 years at SS. Peter and Paul School in the Bronx, died Jan. 27 at Mary the Queen Convent in Yonkers. She was 85.

She taught at SS. Peter and Paul from 1971 to 1996. She also was on the faculty at Resurrection, Rye, 1967-1971, and 1946-1951; St. Denis, Yonkers, 1963-1967; St. Agatha’s, Nanuet, 1962-1963; St. Anthony’s, the Bronx, 1959-1962; and St. John the Evangelist, Manhattan, 1951-1952. She also taught in the Bahamas.

Born in the Bronx, she entered the Sisters of Charity of New York in 1944 and professed final vows in 1949. She held a bachelor’s degree in English from the College of Mount St. Vincent and a master’s degree in education from Manhattan College.

She is survived by her sister, Joan.

A Funeral Mass was offered Jan. 31 at Mary the Queen Convent, with burial in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Yonkers.
