Sister M. James Francis Coffey, O.P.

Sister M. James Francis Coffey, O.P., who was a teacher and staff worker at St. Agnes Home and School in Sparkill, died May 17 in Siena Hall Infirmary at Dominican Convent in Sparkill. She was 96. She served at St. Agnes from 1948 to 1970. She also was a domestic worker at Villa St. Dominic Guest House in Glasco, 1970-1982. Born in Roscommon, Ireland, she entered the Dominican Congregation of Our Lady of the Rosary in Sparkill in 1943 and professed final vows in 1950. A Funeral Mass was offered May 21 at Our Lady of the Rosary Chapel at the Dominican Convent in Sparkill, with burial in St. Agnes Cemetery there.
