Sister M. Jeannine Parry, I.H.M.

Sister M. Jeannine Parry, I.H.M., who was twice a principal in the archdiocese, died May 23 at Our Lady of Peace Residence in Scranton, Pa.. She was 92.

She was principal at St. Stephen’s School in Manhattan, 1967-1971, and St. Alphonsus Elementary School in Manhattan, 1965-1977. She taught at St. Ann’s School, Nyack, 1957-1965 and 1976-1977.

She served as a principal, teacher and volunteer at St. Mary’s School, Manhasset, 1977-2012. She also taught in Brooklyn, Queens and Pennsylvania.

Born in Pittston, Pa., she entered the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in 1941 and professed final vows in 1947.

Sister Jeannine is survived by two sisters, Sister M. Celeste, I.H.M., and Rose Ann McGrath.

A Funeral Mass was offered May 25 at Our Lady of Peace Residence. Burial was in St. Catherine’s Cemetery in Moscow, Pa.
