Sister Madeleine Giusto, M.M., who served in nursing positions in South Korea for 19 years, died March 30 at Phelps Memorial Hospital in Sleepy Hollow. She was 79.

Sister Madeleine was in South Korea, 1997-2000, 1984-1988, 1975-1984 and 1969-1972. She also served in New York and California.

Born in Chicago, she entered the Maryknoll Sisters novitiate in 1968 and professed final vows in 1975. She earned her RN from Roseland Community Hospital School for Nurses in Chicago.
Her sisters, Diane Winans and Jacqueline Maslow, and her brother, Donald Giusto, survive her.

A Memorial Mass will be planned for a later date.
