Sister Maria Pozzobon, F.M.S.C.

Sister Maria Pozzobon, F.M.S.C., who served in the infirmary of Mount St. Francis in Peekskill and at Ladycliff College, Highland Falls, died June 14. She was 96.

She was a nurses’s aide in the infirmary of the motherhouse of Mount St. Francis, 1980-2008, and 1948-1966. She was assigned to take charge of the health of the college women of Ladycliff College, 1966-1980. She became a patient in the infirmary in 2008.

Born one of 11 children in Cavasagra, Italy, she entered the Franciscan Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart in 1945. She made final vows in 1952. She was previously known as Sister Crocefissa.

A Funeral Mass was offered June 18 in St. Margaret of Cortona Chapel of Mount St. Francis in Peekskill. Burial was in the sisters’ cemetery.
