Sister Marie Muenzen, O.S.F.

Sister Marie Muenzen, O.S.F., who served as a teacher and coordinator of education in the archdiocese, died March 28 at Immaculate Conception Motherhouse in Hastings-on-Hudson. She was 74.

She taught at St. Joseph’s School, New Rochelle, 1956-1959, and at Immaculate Conception, Tuckahoe, 1959-1968 and 1977-1990. She also served as coordinator of religious education at St. Stanislaus Kostka parish in Hastings-on-Hudson, 1975 to 1997.

Born in New York City, she entered the Sisters of St. Francis in 1953 and made final vows in 1959. She attended Fordham University, graduating with a bachelor’s in education.

Her twin sister, Eleanor Albrecht, survives her. A Funeral Mass was offered March 31 in Our Lady of Angels Chapel at the motherhouse. Burial was at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne.
