Sister Marie Terence O'Mara, O.P., who taught in archdiocesan schools and also was a librarian and secretary, died March 5 at St. Dominic's Convent in Blauvelt. She was 90. She taught in the Bronx at St. Pius V School, 1963-1977 and 1943-1949; St. Luke's, 1957-1963; St. Benedict's, 1951-1957; and Our Lady of Victory, 1941-1943; and in Rhinebeck at the Astor Home for Children, 1949-1951. She was a librarian at Sacred Heart School in Suffern, 1995-1997, and a secretary at Cardinal Hayes High School in the Bronx, 1985-1995. From 1977 to 1985 she was a receptionist and transcribed printed material into Braille at the Xavier Society for the Blind in Manhattan. Returning to St. Dominic's in 1997, she was assistant to the archivist at the convent until her recent illness. Born in New York City, she entered the Sisters of St. Dominic of Blauvelt in 1938 and professed final vows in 1943. She held a bachelor's degree in education from Fordham University. She is survived by two sisters, Sister Catherine O'Mara, D.H.M., and Theresa O'Mara, and a brother, Joseph O'Mara. A Funeral Mass was celebrated March 9 at St. Dominic's Convent, with burial in the convent cemetery.
