Sister Mary Camille Madarang, R.G.S.

Sister Mary Camille Madarang, R.G.S., a nurse who served in the archdiocese, died June 17 at University of Massachusetts Medical Center in Worcester, Mass. She was 81. She did health services work in Manhattan at Good Shepherd Services, 1989 to 1998, and at Euphrasian Residence, 1962 and 1991. She was a nurse at New York Eye and Ear Infirmary, 1987-1991; Cabrini Medical Center, 1986-1987; and St. Clare's Hospital, 1984-1986. She was an infirmarian and camp nurse at Mount Florence in Peekskill, 1962-1963 and 1965-1966, and also taught there. She served as assistant group mother at St. Gerard's in Manhattan, 1963-1965. Born in the Philippines, she entered the Sisters of the Good Shepherd in 1959 and professed final vows in 1967. She held a nursing degree from the Philippine General School of Nursing in the Philippines. A Funeral Mass was offered June 20 at Good Shepherd Center Chapel in Marlborough, Mass., with burial at Mount Benedict Cemetery in West Roxbury, Mass.
