Sister Mary Lee Englerth, M.M., who served in Peru for 11 years, died May 31 at WellSpan Hospital in York, Pa. She was 83.

Sister Mary Lee was in Peru, 1981-1987, 1975-1979 and 1962. She was at Maryknoll Sisters Center, Ossining, 1989-1991 and 1973-1975, and also served in Pennsylvania, Missouri and Guatemala.

She was presented the 2018 Living the Dream Award given to a person who best exemplifie the ideals of Martin Luther King Jr. The award was presented by county YWCA and United Way organizations in Pennsylvania. 

Born in Harrisburg, Pa., she entered the Sister Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in 1954 before transferring to Maryknoll Sisters in 1973. She professed final vows in 1975.
She earned a bachelor’s degree in music from Immaculata College, Immaculata, Pa., and a mas ter’s in religious studies from Maryknoll School of Theology. She became a certified physician
assistant after studies at St. Louis University.

Burial was in the cemetery at Maryknoll Sis ters Center. A Memorial Mass will be scheduledfor a future date.
