Sister Marion Fahey, R.S.H.M.

Sister Marion Fahey, R.S.H.M., who served on the faculty at Marymount College in Tarrytown for 29 years, died Jan. 18 at Marymount Convent in Tarrytown. She was 91.

Sister Marion taught business and economics at Marymount, 1978-2007. In the Bronx, she served on the faculties of Fordham University, 2007-2016; Mother Butler Memorial High School/Sacred Heart of Mary High School, 1973-1978; Aquinas High School, 1972-1973; and St. Thomas Aquinas School, 1958-1960.

She also served in Brooklyn, Queens, Sag Harbor and Virginia.

Born in New York City, she entered the Religious of the Sacred Heart of Mary Novitiate in Tarrytown in 1947 and professed final vows in 1954.

A graduate of Sacred Heart of Mary Academy in the Bronx, she received a bachelor’s degree in history from Marymount College, Tarrytown; and master’s degrees in history from St. John’s University, Queens, and management from Fordham University, the Bronx.

Her sister, Joan Fahey Purcell, survives her.

A Funeral Mass was celebrated Jan. 21 at Marymount Convent. Burial was in Mount Calvary Cemetery, White Plains.
