Sister Patricia Morrison, P.B.V.M.

Sister Patricia Morrison, P.B.V.M., who taught at St. Jude’s School in Manhattan, died Dec. 28 at Cabrini Nursing Home in Dobbs Ferry. She was 81.

Over the decades, she also taught at St. Michael’s School, Manhattan, St. Frances of Rome, the Bronx, and St. John, Goshen. She also taught in Queens at St. Helen School in Howard Beach.

Sister Patricia later served as a guidance counselor at St. Thomas Aquinas College, Sparkill, and served as a secretary at two Catholic schools in Queens.

Born in Manhattan, she entered the Sisters of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary in 1958 and made final vows in 1966. She held a bachelor’s degree in education from St. Thomas Aquinas College, a master’s in elementary education from Queens College, and a master's in pastoral counseling from Iona College. She was formerly known as Sister Mary Redempta.

She is survived by nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Mass was offered Dec. 31 at Mount St. Joseph Convent in New Windsor. Burial was at Mount St. Joseph Cemetery.
