Sister Rose Anthony Ewald, O.P., a child care worker who spent many years at Cardinal McCloskey Home in White Plains, died Nov. 12 in Siena Hall Infirmary at Dominican Convent in Sparkill. She was 93.

She served at Cardinal McCloskey for a total of 26 years, 1968-1978 and 1951-1967. She also served at St. Ignatius Day Nursery in Manhattan, 1967-1968, and St. Agnes Home in Sparkill, 1944-1951. She was a staff member in the convent infirmary, 1978-1987, and became a resident there in 2003.

Born in Piopolis, Ill., she entered the Dominican Sisters of Sparkill in 1942 and professed final vows in 1949.

A Funeral Mass was celebrated Nov. 14 in the convent chapel, with burial in St. Agnes Cemetery in Sparkill.
