Sister Rose Marie Traficanti, A.S.C.J.

Sister Rose Marie Traficanti, A.S.C.J., who served in the archdiocese for 14 years, died March 17 at St. Raphael’s Hospital in New Haven, Conn. She was 98.

She taught at Sacred Heart Private School, the Bronx, 1938-1949, and Our Lady of Pompeii School, Manhattan, 1935-1938. She also taught in Connecticut and Florida, and served in Rhode Island and Missouri.

Born in Pittsburgh, Pa., she entered the Apostles of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in 1933 and professed final vows in 1941. She held a bachelor’s degree in social studies from Fordham University.

A Funeral Mass was offered March 20 at Sacred Heart Manor Chapel in Hamden, Conn., with burial in All Saints Cemetery in North Haven, Conn.
