Sister Stephanie Robinson, O.P., who served as secretary general of the Sisters of St. Dominic of Blauvelt, died March 29 in St. Martin de Porres Community at the motherhouse in Blauvelt. She was 87.

Sister Stephanie served as secretary general for six years ending in 2005.

She served as director of household at the Wellness Center, 1997-1999; supervisor of the diet kitchen at the sisters’ infirmary, 1991-1997; director of food services at the motherhouse, 1988-1991; and dental assistant and assistant supervisor of household, 1986-1988.

She served in other capacities at the dental office, the childcare office, St. Dominic’s Home, and in the convent and home, 1959-1986. She was cottage mother, 1957-1959, and served in the children’s dining room, 1954-1957.

Following her service as secretary general, she worked in the sisters’ gift shop and later in community service before retiring in 2014 to St. Martin de Porres Community.

Born in Manhattan, she entered the Sisters of St. Dominic in 1952 and made final vows in 1957. She held an associate’s degree from Dominican College in Orangeburg.

Burial took place April 2 at St. Dominic’s Cemetery in Blauvelt. A Memorial Mass will be offered at a future date.
