Sister Theresa Francis Curran, O.P, who was a principal in Bardonia and the Bronx as well as a teacher, died Feb. 27 at Siena Hall Infirmary in Dominican Convent, Sparkill. She was 90.

She was principal of Albertus Magnus High School, Bardonia, 1957-1963, and of St. John Chrysostom, 1963-1965, and St. Theresa, 1965-1992, both in the Bronx.

She taught at Thorpe Secretarial School in Manhattan, 1949-1957; St. Columba’s in Chester, 1948-1949; and St. Joseph’s in the Bronx, 1945-1948; and in the Diocese of Brooklyn.

After retiring in 1992 she was convent sacristan and assisted in the archives office.

Born in Manhattan, she entered the Dominican Sisters of Sparkill in 1939 and professed final vows in 1945. She earned a bachelor’s degree in English at Manhattan College and a master’s in business education at Columbia University.

She is survived by a brother, Francis Curran.

A Funeral Mass was celebrated March 3 at Dominican Convent, with burial at St. Agnes Cemetery in Sparkill.
