Sister Veronica Mary Martin, M.M., who served for 48 years at the Maryknoll Sisters Center in Ossining, died there March 16. She was 100.

Sister Veronica Mary was at Maryknoll, 1948-1996, as a clerk-typist in the direct mail office, congregational archives and Maryknoll post office. She retired but remained an active volunteer at the Maryknoll Sisters Center until 2004.

She also served in Hawaii and Hong Kong.

Born in Philadelphia, she entered the Maryknoll Sisters novitiate in 1941 and professed final vows in 1947.

She earned a bachelor’s degree in education from Maryknoll Teachers College.

Sister Veronica Mary donated her body to science. A Memorial Mass will be scheduled for a later date. Her cremains will be buried in the Maryknoll Sisters Cemetery in Ossining.
