Six Archdiocesan Priests Celebrating Silver Jubilees

Six priests of the archdiocese are celebrating their 25th anniversary of their ordination in 2022.

Five of the priests were ordained by Cardinal John O’Connor at St. Patrick’s Cathedral on May 17, 1997, and one was incardinated into the archdiocese in 2010.

Father Robert Dillon has been pastor of St. Joseph-St. Thomas-St. John Neumann, Staten Island, since 2017, and was pastor of St. Joseph-St. Thomas, 2010-2017, and St. John Neumann, 2006-2010. He was parochial vicar on Staten Island of St. Charles, 1998-2006, and Holy Rosary, 1997.

Father James Hauver retired last year as pastor of Guardian Angel-St. Columba, Manhattan, where he had served since 2015. He was administrator of St. Roch, Staten Island, 2012-2015, and parochial vicar of Our Lady Star of the Sea, Staten Island, 2011-2012; Immaculate Conception, Stony Point, 2009-2010; St. Joseph’s, Staten Island, 2009; and St. Patrick’s, Yorktown Heights, 2002-2008. He was temporary administrator of St. Augustine’s, Highland, and served on the faculty of Archbishop Stepinac High School, White Plains. He was ordained in Duluth, Minn., in 1997 and incardinated into the archdiocese in 2010.

Father Michael Martine has been pastor of Holy Rosary, Staten Island, since 2013. He was pastor of St. Joseph, Staten Island, 2009-2013; temporary administrator of St. Mary’s, Staten Island, 2010-2012; and parochial vicar of St. Anthony’s, Nanuet, 2002-2004; Sacred Heart, Monroe, 1998-2002; and St. Francis of Rome, the Bronx, 1997-1998. He also served on the Metropolitan Tribunal, Interdiocesan Appellate Tribunal for the Province of New York and as professor of canon law and procurator of St. Joseph’s Seminary, Dunwoodie.

Father Gary Mead has been parochial vicar of Holy Trinity, Manhattan, since 2010. He also served as parochial vicar of St. Gregory Barbarigo, Garnerville, 2005-2010; St. Mary’s, Wappingers Falls, 2004-2005; and Holy Family, New Rochelle, 1997-2004.

Father Ambiorix Rodriguez has served as pastor of St. Elizabeth’s in the Washington Heights section of Manhattan since 2015, and served there as administrator, 2014-2015. He served at Our Lady of Mercy, the Bronx, as pastor, 2005-2014, and administrator, 2002-2005. He was parochial vicar of Our Lady Queen of Martyrs, Manhattan, 1997-2002, and St. Joseph’s, Middletown, 1997.

Father Richard Smith has been pastor of St. Joachim-St. John, Beacon, since 2011. He was pastor of St. Benedict’s, the Bronx, 2007-2010; temporary administrator of St. Margaret of Antioch, Pearl River, 2006; and parochial vicar at Annunciation, Crestwood, 2006-2007, and St. Peter’s, Haverstraw, 1997-2006.
