Speaking Up for Parents

Posted

I am shocked and dismayed by the publication of Marylee Raymond Diamond's letter to the editor (CNY, Nov. 4). I believe parents absolutely should have a voice in what is being taught to their children. The extremist tone of her letter goes on to group concerned parents with a small, violent segment of the population. Many parents are being denied the ability to speak in public forums. Violence is never acceptable nor is denying concerned parents the freedom of speech with regard to the education of their children. I thank God that my parents sent me and my four siblings to Catholic schools for an excellent education!
