Thirteen Priests Named Parochial Vicars in Parishes

Thirteen priests in the archdiocese have new assignments as parochial vicars of parishes, the Cardinal’s Office has announced. Their appointments were effective July 1. 

In other appointments, Father Thomas Roslak has been named chaplain at Orange Regional Medical Center in Middletown and Father Peter Heasley has been assigned to undertake graduate studies in Rome. Father Roslak’s appointment was effective May 1, and Father Heasley’s will become effective Sept. 1.

The newly assigned parochial vicars are:

Father Seán Connolly, who had served as parochial vicar of St. Mary Mother of the Church in Fishkill since last year, has been assigned as parochial vicar of Immaculate Conception-Assumption, Tuckahoe. He was ordained in 2015.

Father Patric D’Arcy, who had served as administrator of St. Mary-St. Joseph, Poughkeepsie, since last year, has been assigned as parochial vicar of St. Anselm-St. Roch, the Bronx. He served as parochial vicar of Our Lady of the Angels, the Bronx, 2012-2015. He was ordained in 2012.

Father Robert Ginel, who had served as parochial vicar of St. Patrick’s, Highland Mills, since last year, has been assigned as parochial vicar of St. Ann’s, Staten Island. He also served as parochial vicar of Sacred Heart, Suffern, 2014-2015; and Holy Cross, the Bronx, 2008-2014. He served as pastor of St. Peter’s, Monticello, 1995-2007, and was administrator there for a year before and after his pastorate. He also served at St. Mary and St. Andrew, Ellenville, 1984-1994, and Holy Name of Jesus, Manhattan, 1978-1984. He was ordained in 1978.

Father Donald Haggerty, who had served as parochial vicar of St. Agnes, Manhattan, since last year, has been assigned as parochial vicar of St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Manhattan. Immediately before that, he served in the Archdiocese of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, beginning in 2011. He was spiritual director at St. Joseph’s Seminary, Dunwoodie, 1998-2011, and was on the faculty of St. Mary’s Seminary, Emmitsburg, Md., 1995-1998. He served as parochial vicar in the Bronx at Holy Spirit, 1990-1991, and Sacred Heart, 1989-1990. He did doctoral studies in moral theology in Rome, 1991-1995. He was ordained in 1989.

Msgr. Robert Larkin, who had served since last year as pastor of Sacred Heart, Hartsdale, where he was administrator, 2014-2015, has been assigned as parochial vicar of St. Augustine’s, Larchmont. He was pastor of Visitation, the Bronx, 1991-2014. He was a vice chancellor of the archdiocese, 1988-1991. In the Bronx, he served as parochial vicar of St. Barnabas, 1980-1988, and St. Dominic’s, 1973-1977, and was on the faculty of Cardinal Hayes High School, 1977-1980. He was ordained in 1973 and named a monsignor in 1995.

Father Sandro Leyton Rodriguez, who had served as parochial vicar of St. Joseph’s, Middletown, since 2013, has been assigned as parochial vicar of St. Patrick-St. Mary-Our Lady of the Lake, Newburgh. He was ordained in 2013. 

Father Matthew MacDonald, who had served as parochial vicar of St. James the Apostle, Carmel, since 2014, has been assigned as parochial vicar of St. Joseph’s, Somers. He was ordained in 2014. 

Father Jose Marabe, who had served as parochial vicar at St. Patrick’s Cathedral since 2000, has been assigned as parochial vicar of Our Lady Queen of Martyrs, Manhattan. He has served as director and moderator of the archdiocesan Filipino Apostolate since 2009. He served on the Metropolitan Tribunal from 2002 until last year. He was ordained in his native Philippines in 1970 and incardinated into the archdiocese in 2009.  

Father Michael Morrow, who most recently served as parochial vicar of St. Eugene’s, Yonkers, since 2003, has been assigned as parochial vicar of St. Paul the Apostle, Yonkers. He also served as parochial vicar of St. Brendan’s, the Bronx, 1994-2003; Assumption, Peekskill, 1988-1994; and Holy Trinity, Poughkeepsie, 1986-1988. He was ordained in 1986.

Father Adolphus Muoghalu, who had served as parochial vicar of St. Mary’s, Wappingers Falls, since last year, has been assigned as parochial vicar of St. James the Apostle, Carmel. He was ordained in 2015.

Father Jeffrey Pomeisl, who had served as parochial vicar of St. Patrick’s, Yorktown Heights, since 2013, has been assigned to St. John the Evangelist, Goshen. He was ordained in 2013.

Father Kenneth Riello, who had served as parochial vicar of St. Teresa’s, Staten Island, since 2013, has been assigned as parochial vicar of St. Mary’s, Wappingers Falls. He was ordained in 2013.

Father Jean Marie Uzabakiriho, who had served as parochial vicar of Annunciation and Our Lady of Fatima, Crestwood, since last year, has been assigned to St. Teresa’s, Staten Island. He was ordained in 2015. 

Priests assigned to other assignments are:

Father Thomas Roslak, who had served as parochial vicar of Most Precious Blood, Walden, since 2014, has been assigned as chaplain of Orange Regional Medical Center in Middletown. He served at St. Clare’s, Staten Island, 2011-2014, and St. Augustine’s, New City, 2010-2011. He was ordained in 2010.

Father Peter Heasley, who has served as parochial vicar of St. John the Evangelist, Goshen, since 2014, has been assigned to graduate studies in Rome. He also was temporary administrator of St. John the Evangelist, for about six weeks at the beginning of 2015. He received a licentiate in Biblical Theology after studying at Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome, 2013-2014. He served at St. Gregory Barbarigo, Garnerville, summer 2013. He was ordained in 2013.
