Two Pastors, Administrator Named to Parishes


Two priests have been appointed as pastors and one has been named a temporary administrator at parishes in the archdiocese, the Cardinal’s Office has announced.
Father Louis Anderson was named pastor of St. Anthony parish, the Bronx, effective Feb. 1, and Father Bernard Timothy, O.P., was appointed pastor of Holy Innocents, Pleasantville, effective Feb. 10.
Father Frank Desiderio, C.S.P., was named temporary administrator of St. Paul the Apostle, Manhattan, effective Feb. 1.

Father Louis Anderson had served as administrator of St. Anthony parish since 2016. Since October, he also has served as school chaplain of Our Lady of Grace and St. Francis of Assisi schools, both in the Bronx. He was parochial vicar of St. Benedict, the Bronx, 2015-2016; St. Lucy’s, the Bronx, 2011-2015; and Assumption, Peekskill, 2007-2011. He was ordained in 2007.

Father Bernard Timothy, O.P., had been parochial vicar of a parish in Washington, D.C., since August. He was parochial vicar of a parish in Youngstown, Ohio, 2013-2018. He was ordained to the priesthood as a Dominican Friar of the Province of St. Joseph in 2013.

Father Frank Desiderio, C.S.P., has served since 2014 as first consultor of the Paulist Fathers, with residence at St. Paul the Apostle parish, Manhattan. He was director of the Paulist Center, Boston, 2010-2014; president of Paulist Productions, Los Angeles, 1998-2009; rector of St. Paul’s College, Washington, D.C., 1991-1998; associate director of Paulist Communications, Los Angeles, 1988-1991; director of UCLA Catholic Center, 1984-1988; and parochial vicar of a parish in Los Angeles, Los Angeles, 1982-1984. He was ordained to the priesthood for the Paulist Fathers in 1982.
