This is in response to the article in which St. Mother Teresa is being criticized by Michelle Goldberg and others (CNY, June 17). I find the information they are presenting to be offensive, untrue and unsubstantiated. In my opinion this article demonstrates the feeling of people who are anti-Christian and who do not understand the beliefs and attitudes of Catholics, especially of a person so saintly as Mother Teresa. Although I understand that you want to make more people aware of the falseness of their opinion, I don't think this information should be given a place in this paper again. I have read many books about St. Mother Teresa, I have a personal letter from her that I treasure, and I am very upset at their attempt to vilify her.
