Readers should understand that the "philosophy" of Ayn Rand is antithetical to Catholic social teaching. Ms Rand was anti religion and preached that there is no common good only what is good for the individual. Jesus on the otherhand tells us to love our neighbor and care for him as we would ourselves.
These ideas are not compatible. As Catholics, it seems to me that we need to follow the words of Jesus, not those of an atheistic writer.
