‘Healing Remedy’

Posted

Re: the letter of Frank and Terry Del Campo (CNY, June 2).

In these most difficult times it is easy to point the finger and accuse others of wrong, as did Adam toward Eve and Eve toward the serpent. God wants interior change, not forced change. I agree with Archbishop Michael Jackels of Dubuque in reminding us Jesus said it is the sick people who need a doctor, not the healthy, and the Eucharist is a healing remedy. The Eucharist connects us to the Divine and the Divine reveals sin, encouraging a change of heart on the journey to wholeness and holiness. The accuser of the brethren has been cast out. Don’t deny the sacrament that forgives sin. Love embraces the sinner giving encouragement for repentance. You shall not kill: another way of putting it is to embrace all life.
