Longest-Married Couples

Posted

My parents have been left off your list of “The Longest Married Couples in the Archdiocese” (CNY, Feb. 10). They are Joseph V. and Mary Maistre, currently of Sacred Heart Church in Hartsdale, Westchester County. They have been parishoners there for nearly 50 years. Before that, they were members of Our Lady of Mercy parish in the Bronx from childhood through their marriage, until they moved to Westchester in the late 1970s. They were married in Our Lady of Mercy on Saturday, Nov. 12, 1955. He is 94, and she is 88.

Editor’s Note: Congratulations to your parents and one or two other couples who wrote after the longest-married couples article was published in our last issue. Each year, there are always a few couples who miss the notices about the contest published in Catholic New York and in many parish bulletins. The contest is organized and run by the archdiocesan Family Life Office. Sacramentally married couples of 65 or more years are most welcome to enter.
