Making An Impression

Bronx senior citizens turn their canes, wheelchairs and walkers into paintbrushes as part of a recreation therapy program at ArchCare Senior Life at San Vicente de Paul, the Bronx. Staff, including Rebecca Love, recreational services supervisor, assisted the seniors March 25 in applying assorted colors of paint before the artists wheeled their modes of transportation across a canvas. They made their mark on the large collaborative piece that will be displayed for all to enjoy. The nontraditional art therapy especially helps those who have limited use or difficulty painting with their hands. The seniors are members of the ArchCare Senior Life Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE), part of ArchCare, the health care system of the archdiocese.
