New President Named at Holy Cross High School

Mark Mongelluzzo, an administrator at Xavier High School in Manhattan, was appointed president of Holy Cross High School in Flushing, Queens, the school announced.

Mongelluzzo, who will assume his new role on July 1, will succeed Mike Truesdell, who is retiring June 30.

Mongelluzzo, a 1992 graduate of Holy Cross, is vice president for advancement at Xavier High School in Manhattan. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Yale University in New Haven, Conn., and a juris doctor degree from Boston University.

“I am the product of a Holy Cross education and I am deeply grateful for the education I received there,” Mongelluzzo said. “I am as humbled as I am enthusiastic to have the opportunity to lead Cross in the next chapter of its storied history.” 

John Gerspach, chairman of the board of directors at Holy Cross, said, “We are thrilled to have Mark as the next president of Holy Cross. His leadership qualities, knowledge of our school and community, and professional skills are exemplary. We are both excited for and confident in our future with Mark as the school’s chief executive.”
