‘Rite Was Wrong’

Vice President Joseph Biden’s recent marriage rite was wrong (CNY, Aug. 18).

I am grateful to Archbishops Joseph Kurtz and Thomas Wenski and Bishop Richard Malone for defending the sacredness of the sacrament of marriage. They along with Pope Francis are simply saying that this union is only to be shared between a man and woman. Biden could have let another official perform this ceremony, but instead he chose to act against the teachings of the Church. He has created more confusion among American Catholics who lately seem to be more accepting of same-sex marriage.

divorced catholic public officials gained many of their catholic constituencies by way of sharing the same faith, as long s tey still follow the tenets of that faith, they shoud be repected, when they take the sacrimants in privacy delivered by a good clery friend, they are sinning according to our beliefs, it was Julini or Cumo who took communion in public and was chasticed by the then Cardinal Egan, if biden testifys that he is a practicing Catholic, then he short conform to all Catholic cannon law and religious prctices, being the veep is not s rank offered by god
