Sister M. Peter Francis Nolan, F.M.S.C.

Sister M. Peter Francis Nolan, F.M.S.C., a nurse and educator, died Feb. 24. She was 79.

Sister M. Peter Francis served as a nurse and director of the sisters’ infirmary in Peekskill. She was a nurse at the sisters’ retirement home, Peekskill; Victoria Home, Ossining; Marrs Nursing Home, Mohegan Lake; and Kennedy Home, the Bronx. She taught health at the Assisium, Manhattan.

She served her religious community as provincial treasurer. She also served in New Jersey.

Born in Peekskill, she entered the Franciscan Sisters of Peekskill in 1959 and professed final vows in 1966.

She graduated from St. Patrick’s School, Verplanck; Ladycliff Academy, Mohegan Lake; Ladycliff College, Highland Falls; and St. Vincent’s Nursing School, Staten Island.

Her sisters, Fran Floyd and Agnes Scozzafava, survive her.

A Funeral Mass was celebrated March 1 at Mount St. Francis, Peekskill. Burial was in the sisters’ cemetery.
