Spiritual Reading

Posted

I cannot express how disappointed, saddened and outraged I am with the decision to cease publication of Catholic New York on Nov. 17.

It has taken me a few days to calm down and collect my thoughts before I would even send you this e-mail. I have the utmost admiration and respect for your professionalism and integrity.

Does the Archdiocese truly appreciate the blow to "Catholic identity in New York" that the removal of Catholic New York does to the landscape of fighting for our Catholic values and proclaiming the truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ?

On a personal note, I consider you a friend and a brother-in-Christ. Every other Thursday when Catholic New York arrives at my home, I right away open the newspaper to your column. Reading your column is like a personal visit of a friend into my home.

And as I think I told you once before, reading every page of Catholic New York is like a "spiritual reflection" that renews my Catholic faith.

You and your Catholic New York family will remain in my daily prayers and thoughts. I truly believe I have grown as a Disciple of Jesus Christ, and I have strengthened my faith, by reading Catholic New York.
