After an early morning Mass Oct. 14 at Holy Family Church on East 47th Street in Manhattan, participants pray outside a nearby abortion center as part of a Walk for Life fund-raiser sponsored by Good Counsel, a nonprofit that provides residential care and community-based services for homeless, expectant and new mothers and their children. At the event, which is held during Respect Life Month, attendees made a peaceful, prayerful procession to take a stand for life. Chris Bell, executive director of Good Counsel, center, is pictured near Sisters of Life and other pro-life advocates.
