Archbishop Timothy Broglio of the Archdiocese for Military Services USA

Archbishop Timothy Broglio of the Archdiocese for Military Services USA will serve as principal celebrant and homilist at a Memorial Mass for Staten Island native Father Vincent R. Capodanno, M.M., a U.S. Navy chaplain and lieutenant, on the 51st anniversary of his death on a Vietnam battlefield.

The Mass, which is open to the public, will be offered Tuesday, Sept. 4, at 6:30 p.m. at the Crypt of the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C.

Father Capodanno, a Maryknoll priest whose cause for canonization is open, was killed in Vietnam on Sept. 4, 1967.
