Father Robert A. Lilly, M.M.

Father Robert A. Lilly, M.M., a missioner to Korea for 21 years, died May 19 in the Assisted Living Unit at Maryknoll in Ossining. He was 87.

Father Lilly served in Korea, 1983-1994, 1969-1974 and 1963-1968. He also served in Maryknoll’s development and information services departments, and in Montana.

Born in Brooklyn, he entered Maryknoll in 1952 and was ordained in 1962.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in philosophy and a master’s in religious education, both from the Maryknoll Seminary, Ossining.
His brother, Mark Lilly, and his sisters, Anne Lilly, Pat Underberg and Virginia Ferguson, survive him.

Father Lilly’s body was donated to New York Medical College in Valhalla for medical research. A Memorial Mass was offered May 25 in Queen of Apostles Chapel at Maryknoll.
