Father Thomas J. Curley

Father Thomas J. Curley, who served as a pastor and administrator of four parishes, died April 8. He was 77.

He was administrator of St. Sylvia in Tivoli from 2008 until he retired for medical reasons in 2015. He was pastor of St. Christopher, Red Hook, 2008-2010, and St. Columba, Chester, 1990-2008. He was administrator of Nativity of Our Blessed Lady, the Bronx, 1989-1990.

He was parochial vicar of Sacred Heart, Staten Island, 1978-1989; Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Ardsley, 1977-1978; St. Stanislaus, Pleasant Valley, 1977; and St. Frances de Chantal, the Bronx, 1970-1972. He was an assistant at Most Holy Trinity Chapel at the U.S. Military Academy, West Point, 1972-1977.

Born in the Bronx, he attended Cathedral College and St. Joseph’s Seminary, Dunwoodie. He was ordained in 1970 at St. Patrick’s Cathedral.

The Funeral Mass was offered April 11 at St. Barnabas Church, the Bronx. Burial was at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
